Before I let Acura take a look at my car and start bi*ching about my warranty, I wanted to get some opinions here. For the past 2 weeks, and about a week after my v-afc was installed, my CEL has been going off occasionally indicating a problem with the MAP sensor. To be more precise, the code is P0107 (manifold absolute pressure circuit low input) which I believe means that there is a high vacuum problem in the map sensor. The car goes into limp mode and life generally sucks when that happens.

At first, I thought the problem was a bad ground connection to the map sensor. Last week I tested for voltage at the 3-wire harness that plugs into the sensor and got zero volts. I tested continuity of the ground wire from the sensor to the ecu and got nothing. So, I hooked up a secondary grounding wire from the sensor to a known ground, which seemed to temporarily fix the problem.

Today, I took my temporary grounding wire off the map sensor. I tested the voltage at the connecting harness and found 5V, which is correct. I plugged the harness into the map sensor, reset the ecu and started the car and it threw the map sensor code again.

I'm starting to think that I have a bad map sensor. Is it possible that the v-afc is screwing things up? Suggestions please.

Ok, I just got back from lunch. The car ran in limp mode on the way to lunch, but "got better" on the drive back. The CEL stayed on, but the car drove fine. Loose wiring connection? Map sensor on its last legs?

Looks like its cause by the AFC. What is the setting? Make sure you didn't richen the fuel by more than 8% or it will throw a code.

I don't richen my more than 2%. For the most part, I lean out ALOT, up to 15% at the top end. However, the CEL comes on at any rpm, even at idle.

    Ideas?
